There are too many stray cats in my neighborhood can you pick them up and take them?
These cats are referred to as community cats. It is up to the neighborhood to help control the population. If you live in the jurisdiction of Stanislaus Animal Services (Modesto, Ceres, Hughson, Patterson, Waterford, or with a County address in an unincorporated area) Cats over 4 pounds can be taken to the shelter on Cornucopia Way in Modesto where if healthy will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and ear-tipped and returned to their native environment to live without reproducing. Residents in these areas are responsible for trapping and getting cats to the shelter to participate in this program. Stanislaus County Animal Shelter in modesto, California - Animal Shelter
