Time’s up! This expression has so many different meanings. You’re taking a test, and then time’s up. Cookies in the oven are done when time’s up. A sweet dog sitting in an animal shelter since Feb. 20? Time’s up! Meet Sarge, a young male Lab mix, and yes, he has been at Beaumont Animal Services since late February. Nearly 70 dogs died and almost a dozen were hurt in a fire at a Beaumont Humane Society animal shelter.

On Tuesday night the Humane Society of Southeast Texas in Beaumont caught fire, killing 67 dogs and injuring nearly a dozen more at the animal shelter.If you want to help a pet find its forever home, there are several ways to view the shelter’s adoptable pets. Staffers and volunteers from the animal shelter assisted firefighters in attempts to help save the animals. For the seventh year in a row, Beaumont Animal Services is participating in the national “Foster a Lonely Pet for the Holidays” pet fostering program. This year's program will run from Dec. 2 through Jan. 3. All adoption fees will be discounted 50% during this program. Across the country, over 13,000 pet rescue organizations are trying to empty their kennels for Christmas, encouraging members of the public to invite a pet home for the holidays.
