We are a Florida Non-Profit Corporation.Broward county commissioners Tuesday voted unanimously to hire Stiles Corp. to build a 40,000 square foot animal care shelter at 2308 SW 42nd St. in unincorporated , adjacent to Dania Beach and west of Interstate 95. The building is expected to be completed in 335 days.Do you rescue or help shelter animals in Broward County? If so, you probably heard Broward County Animal Care (BCAC) is saving about 9 out of 10 cats who enter shelter doors. Euthanasia has decreased tremendously during the last 7 months, and since December of 2015 approximately 84% of cats are being saved (up from 47% during the same months the prior year.)"We currently need residents who are able to bottle feed puppies and kittens which cannot eat on their own," said Tracie Rawls, foster coordinator, Broward County Animal Care. "The kittens and puppies must be fed around the clock every two-to-three hours in order to stay healthy and grow."Broward County Animal Care is asking residents with time on their hands to lend a helping hand to very young kittens and puppies that have come into the shelter without their mother. The youngsters, sometimes only days old, must be bottle fed in order to survive.Broward County Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of pets. The agency also coordinates the registering of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations in order to encourage a healthier pet population.Applicants must be 18 years of age and a Broward County resident to apply to become an Animal Care Foster Parent.
