I choose to stick with straight pine shavings, but if you really like CareFRESH pet bedding, we suggest considering one of the blended bedding products, or ensure adequate ventilation and frequent litter changes.

I am disappointed that you have replaced all of your original Carefresh with the baking soda variety. Especially because the original variety was still being produced by Carefresh. Now I have to go to the store and look elsewhere for a formula which does not contain the baking soda.
Carefresh is actually doing away with the new baking soda formula because pet parents are extremely worried and uncomfortable about using this new bedding for their pets (see their Facebook page).
I am also uncomfortable with it, as my rabbits occasionally eat pieces of the bedding. There have been two major occasions of tummy troubles/gas with one of my rabbits since I have used this new formula. Now, my rabbits do occasionally have this issue, but not at this frequency in a two week period.
Baking soda is not good for small pets, and the new litter does not prevent odor any more than the original formula. Pet 360, please bring the Carefresh ORIGINAL back.CareFRESH Pet Bedding "lasts twice as long as shavings so you save time and money." But, that little problem with ammonia means you've got to clean out the litter twice as frequently. Doh...there went the savings.Original CareFRESH is the one that started it all —the first pet bedding made from virgin reclaimed cellulose. You'll love original CareFRESH because it's more absorbent and controls odor better than competing products. It's also all natural, biodegradable and flushable in small quantities. 60 L.Healthy Pet surveyed hundreds of small animal parents, and most voiced a desire for more options to change up their pets’ habitats and make them fun to look at. “I like to switch things up once in a while with my hamsters' habitats and this is a fun option at an affordable price for a product I stand by. carefresh® is my number one small pet bedding choice and I highly recommend it to other small pet owners,” said one survey participant.I am disappointed that you have replaced all of your original Carefresh with the baking soda variety.
