Does anyone know if Petco will take my fish

Pet stores sell betta fish to people who don't know how to take care of them and ..

Every time we walked by that store, it broke our hearts to see that huge fish in that tiny tank. Fish and reptiles should live in their natural habitats and are not appropriate pets. Even veterinarians do not know how to take care of them. We hope all the captive fish and reptiles find decent homes, but we won't miss that awful store.
I doubt pet stores will take in rehoming/surrenders fish but you can always try

Once we find this out we need to take the fish back to the store where we bought it either that day or as soon as we can. But when you keep that fish knowen it's going to out grow the tank and be unhealthy til it's to big or to late for the store to take this fish back. Then it's no longer a mistake, it's animal crowdie. Then when you do take it back to the fish if they do take the fish. Like the petsmart here the manager of the fish department will either call me or try to find a responsible person to take it. Yours wouldn't be a problem at my store

From one extreme... As competitive merchants of all types have focused on customer service as well as price, the "Unconditional Guarantee" has become common in retailing lower-priced items. The basic premise is that the good will generated by a very liberal return policy produces enough profit to more than cover the losses due to returns. From a strictly financial point of view, this philosophy may be mutually beneficial to both buyers and sellers. But there's a third "party" when an ornamental fish is sold - the fish itself - and its interests may not be well served by making replacements too easy. Most hobbyists will undoubtedly take their fish purchasing seriously, but as many pet shops find, some take a generous return policy as a green light to gamble on fish that they are unable to accommodate. If those fish get sick, mangled or die, the buyer gets more fish, the retailer gets a steady "customer", but the fish of course pay the price. In addition to everything you need to care for your pets we also have a large variety of pets waiting for a new loving home. I beleave most fish store's either wont take them or if they do they will find some places to house it til they cn sell it. Like I was saying the ladie at our petsmart houses the bigger fish she can't put in a sale tank in a show tank. They have like a 90g ,150g and a couple of 75g set up as displays in the the store.
