We’ve been taking our dog, Kona, to Dr. Jeff Hooykaas since she was a puppy. She’s now eleven years old and continues to receive excellent care. Dr. Jeff has a way with animals that is quite remarkable and his office staff will always go out of their way to help. There’s no reason to go anywhere other than the Seal Beach Animal Hospital! We believe that through adoption counseling and education, we are helping to create a community that cares for animals with responsibility and compassion. All proceeds from this calendar contest will go to the care of the dogs and cats at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC). SBACC is a non-profit pro-humane animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all the animals that come into care. The staff of dedicated volunteers ensure the animals are kept as comfortable as possible until they can be placed in new adoptive homes. One of the major Long Beach connections to SBACC is the fact that Long Beach's Animal Care Services contracts itself to the City of Seal Beach, meaning that if a Seal Beach resident calls about a stray dog or cat in their neighborhood, ACS will pick it up and bring it to the shelter. The shelter also adopts many animals to Long Beach residents, including its former Mayor Beverly O'Neil. In order to raise money for such vital services such as new dog kennels, emergency veterinary care, and cat and dog vaccinations, The Seal Beach Animal Care Center celebrated their 25th anniversary by hosting a fundraising gala at The Grand in Long Beach. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit animal shelter formed in 1986 to find homes for the dogs, cats, and occasional rabbits, lost within our city limits. All donations are tax deductible. The Friends of the Seal Beach Animal Care Center (and all the animals in our care) appreciate our members, the City of Seal Beach, and the general public for their generous support. All donations received go directly to the care of the animals, with veterinary costs being our biggest expense.
